On tonight’s episode of Sons Of The Flag Radio, Task Force Director Chad Gruver sits down with Burn Survivor and Task Force Member, Devin Barnhart, and Brendan "Donut" McDonough, of the Granite Mountain Hotshots, to discuss how they found purpose in tragedy and how the Firefighter community can better support one another in grief counseling, suicide prevention, and PTSD.
Devin is a firefighter in Fort Collins, Colorado; and newest member of the SOTF Task Force. In 2004 Devin was involved in a horrific structure fire where three of his friend were fatalities and he was left with 2nd and 3rd degree burns to 75% of his body. Brendan "Donut" McDonough is the lone survivor of the Yarnell Hill fire tragedy of 2013. Today he is a public speaker and works with numerous nonprofits for veterans, police officers, firefighters, and emergency medical services. He lives in Prescott, Arizona.
