The Professional Volunteer Fire Department: Winning With the Engine You Have

In this episode of The Professional Volunteer Fire Department, host Tom Merrill talks with Brandon Fletcher. They discuss what departments can do to create a winning mindset and achieve success on the fireground with the engine they do have, not the one they wish they had.  Building the perfect engine for your fire department is a challenge that many would love the opportunity to solve! Unfortunately, the opportunity is rarely afforded to the departments that operate in a rural environment. Rising apparatus costs have seen new engines that easily exceed the $500k mark on the low end, and can reach over $1 million on the high end. Even if money was of no concern, the current production times can range from two to three years. Many rural departments operate with 15-, 20-, or even 30-plus-year-old engines.  Listen to learn more.
